The nonanalytic behavior of the free energy F(T,H) is dominated by a single relevant exponent. Hence, the singular behavior of F(T,B) when T and B are close to a critical point on the line Tc(B) does not depend on the direction u(H-Hc,T-Tc) of approach to the critical point, as long as it is not tangent to the critical line. In particular, for u=T-Tc we have 2F2u=Cu-α. Choosing u=H-Hc, we obtain 2F2H=MH(H-Hc)-α. Since α∼-0.015 [M. Campostrini, Phys. Rev. B PRBMDO 0163-1829 10.1103/PhysRevB.63.214503 63, 214503 (2001)] for a 3D XY-like transition, the second derivative of the magnetization is divergent at the critical point: 2M2H(H-Hc)-1-α.
