17. Instead of using the bulk magnetization M z 2, one may introduce thermal average of the square of the local magnetization along the applied field M z 2. However, this quantity neither gives zero for the low-field limit, nor can be expressed in terms of other measurable bulk quantities. Thus we use M z 2 in the following discussion.
