    • For the percent extraction (%Ex), a water-saturated chloroform solution of ligand (5.00 ml, 1.00 mM) and an aqueous solution of metal picrate (5.00 ml, 1.00 mM) were placed in a stop-cocked flask, and the flask was shaken in a thermostated water bath for 2 h at 25 ± 0.2°C. The concentration of metal picrate in aqueous phase was determined at 354 nm. Mercury(II) picrate was excluded due to its free extraction.
