    • Typical procedure for 3: A mixture of indole 1 (4.03 mmol) and 4-formylpyrazole 2 (2.01 mmol) in chloroform (15 mL) was stirred for 0.5-1 h in the presence of Amberlyst 15 (141 mg) at ambient temperature. The precipitate along with the catalyst was filtered off, washed with chloroform (10 mL). The solid obtained was dissolved in acetone and filtered to separate the catalyst. The filtrate was concentrated to the appropriate volume and left for crystallization
