Ferrocene-1,1′-diboronio acid (1) was prepared according to: Knapp, R.; Rehahn, M. J. Organomet. Chem. 1993, 452, 235. The compound (10 mg, 0.036 mmol) was dissolved in water-acetone (1:1; 7 mL). Suitable single crystals for X-ray studies were obtained by slow evaporation of the solution at room temperature.
