V. Grignard received the Nobel Prize (1/2) in 1912, for the discovery of the so-called Grignard reagent which in recent years has greatly advanced the progress of organic chemistry. In 1976, the Nobel Prize in chemistry was given to W. N. Limpscomb, Jr., for his studies on the structure of boranes illuminating problems of chemical bonding. H. C.
