    • note
    • The temperature and the humidity dependences of the bulk resistivity of a bakelite plate, which is the most common resistive material nowadays, have been studied extensively. A strong dependence of the bulk resistivity on humidity and a relatively weak dependence on temperature were observed, especially, for highly resistive bakelites. As a result, glass may be a better candidate for the resistive plate of the RPC, as it does not absorb moisture.
