For all tests, a halide aryl compound (1 mmol), a boronic acid (1 mmol) and a base (3 mmol) were dissolved in 10 mL of a solvent. A catalyst (amount containing 0.01 mmol of Pd) was then added to the reaction mixture. The reaction was monitored by HPLC (Shimadzu SCL-10A with Discovery C18 column, 15 cm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm; eluent: methanol/water, 60:40).
