This study looks at the possible factors that could increase the mortality in patients undergoing coronary endarterectomy. It demonstrates that the higher mortality associated with coronary endarterectomy is related to increase comorbidities rather than the endarterectomy procedure.

This randomised controlled trial shows the use of prostacyclin to be effective in reducing the incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction as well as mortality.
