    • Some preliminary data with low molecular weight PEG solutions suggest that at high monomer concentrations of the additive a repulsive interaction similar to that of glycerol is regained. Thus it is possible that the depletion energies we report are somewhat underestimated due to some repulsion even at the lower monomer concentrations achieved with PEG 8000. This point awaits further study.
