31. 3·py (5b) precipitates in triclinic crystals of space group P1̄ (Z = 2) from benzene/pentane solutions. As the B-N and C-C bonds are isoelectronic, the pyridine and phenyl ligands are site disordered, so that every phenyl position is occupied to 1/4 by the pyridine molecule. Therefore, bond lengths cannot be discussed, but the structure is an additional proof for the reaction described by Eq. 2b.
