    • The potassium perchlorate salt was chosen here because it is soluble in DMSO, inexpensive and the perchlorate anion is non-nucleophilic. Perchlorate salts are however explosives that should be avoided in industrial applications. The outlined procedure should however also work for other potassium salts such as potassium tetrafluoroborate.
