The UHF/6-31+G(d,p) frequency analysis of the transition state for the H-S bond cleavage in 2 yielded an impossibly high frequency for the H-S bending mode, as also reported by Binns and Marshall (ref 30). This was corrected by using a scaled wavenumber for the same vibration in 2. The scaling factor of 0.75 was estimated from the wavenumbers of other bending modes in 2 and the transition state.
