The Lahore Business and Economic Libraries Network (LABELNET) was established in 1990 as a network of nine libraries from Lahore to develop a computerized bibliographic database of literature in the areas of public and business administration, management, and economics. The project was sponsored by IDRC in Canada and Lahore University of Management Sciences.

The Pakistan Parliamentary Library Project, planned in 1989, was directed towards the establishment of network of country's six legislatures (National Assembly of Pakistan, Senate of Pakistan, and all four provincial assemblies) to provide legislative information services. It was financed by the Asia Foundation.
30. Management of Agriculture Research and Technology (MART) was launched with the financial assistance of USAID in the closing years of 1980s under the leadership of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council in order to establish an agriculture library network of seventeen libraries.
