note
-
This article is part of my doctoral research. The broader research project involved field and archival research in the Ngamiland administrative headquarters Maun, the settlements of Khwaai (including Moremi and its vicinity), Sankuyo, Mababe and Gudigwa. Preliminary discussions and interviews in 1997-1999 (with local community members and key informants) laid the basis for my major fieldwork in 2000-2002, when I conducted interviews and organized focus group meetings with BaTawana figures as well as with San/BaSarwa and Yei, and with members of the white community.
