    • The fwhm for the 253.7 nm lamp's emission spectrum was 2 nm and that for the 300 nm lamp was 25 nm. No filter was necessary and none was used with the 253.7 nm lamps. However, the shorter wavelengths of the 300 nm lamps were removed with the use of toluene solution as a filter. The effects of longer wavelengths of the 300 nm lamps were studied separately using polystyrene filters and were found to have less than 3% effect on the yield of AuNRs.
