1. The eleven countries that participated in the EBEB are Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
2. The EBEB survey is repeated in bi- to tri-annual cycles with spring 2001 as the starting point for the new round. In 2001/2002, it is conducted in nine European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. Resulting international data will be available in the second half of 2002.
3. The Nordic countries consist of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.
4. The response rates for all countries are: Austria 22%, Belgium 12%, France 10%, Germany 13%, Italy 9%, Netherlands 24%, Norway 31%, Portugal 20%, Spain 8%, Sweden 51%, and Switzerland 31%.
5. Country representation in the EBEB sample is as follows: Netherlands 17%, Belgium 12%, Sweden 12%, Norway 11%, Portugal 10%, Switzerland 9%, Austria 7%, France 7%, Italy 6%, Germany 5%, and Spain 4%.
