TIP4P was shown to provide a qualitatively correct description of the ice phase diagram, and therefore, the relative energetics of different O-arrangements is quite well reproduced. However, TIP4P accuracy is insufficient for energy ordering of different orientational arrangements (Ref.). Thus, although the ice II orientational configuration derived from the experiment was located in the present study, a slightly lower-energy arrangement was found as well.
