Color changes due to small pH variations are negligible as shown by intentionally adjusting buffer solutions pH values from 6.5 to 7.5, which showed no significant array responses compared to pH 7.0 buffer. Neither varying the concentration of the phosphate buffer nor adding NaCl produced any array response compared to pure water at pH 7.0.
