Une mise au point de Michel Foucault
-
Foucault reacted angrily to the publication of this remark, which he said was printed without his permission from a taped interview. He went on to indulge in some uncharacteristic compensatory self-abasement, saying that his own "little efforts" (petit travail) could not even be compared to the "immense" and "epoch-making" achievement of Sartre ("Une mise au point de Michel Foucault," letter to La Quinzaine Littéraire, reprinted in Dits et écrits, 1:669-70).
