Cherrington M, Cooper MA, editors. Lightning and electrical injuries, parts I and II. Semin Neurol 1995;15(3,4):227-404. These are two recent issues from the Seminars in Neurology series devoted totally to lightning and electrical injuries. Again, the editors and authors represent leaders in research related to these problems. This is an excellent resource for anyone treating these patients.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
-
Tibbles PM, Edelsberg JS. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy. N Engl J Med 1996;334:1642-8. This article summarizes recent thinking regarding the role of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in a variety of disorders. Although its use in some forms of acute thermal injury resuscitation is advocated, the data on which this recommendation is based are not the results of randomized, prospective, multicenter work and thus are not widely accepted in the burn care community.
