29. We also synthesised the (+)-menthyl enol ether corresponding to 2, in an attempt to induce chirality in the product 11 during the cascade radical reaction. However, the only compound we were able to detect by NMR amongst the mixture of products was reduced material, that is 14, R=menthyl
