Note that it is necessary to apply a correction to the data to take account of the attenuation of the sound wave as it travels from the transducer to the focus. The attenuation has a maximum value at around 0.8 K. The data shown in Figs. 4 and 5 are not corrected for this effect. This is why the voltage required to produce cavitation at 0.75 K is greater than the voltage at 0.171 K
