    • Many publications tend to suggest that land mines can be easily found and imaged in dry soil. While this may be so under the best of circumstances, we are not aware of any rigorous scientific study that has been published in a major refereed journal that reports systematic analysis of the challenges associated with the detection and imaging of shallow buried objects as functions of depth, size and signal characteristics.
