    • A combination of a halogen lamp and band-pass filter (400-450 nm) was used for excitation. The PL image was recorded using a CCD camera through a long-pass filter.

    • The spatially resolved PL spectra were measured by focusing the output of a diode laser (405 nm) onto the sample using a microscope objective. PL was collected by a 5-mm diameter lens, which was moved in the image plane, coupled to an optical fiber, and then guided to a monochromator. The spectra were recorded using a liquid nitrogen-cooled CCD camera. The spatial resolution was approximately 50 μm.
