Many intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) molecules exhibiting shifts in absorption, emission and excitation maxima upon metal ion complexation are reported in the literature. However, our systems, where we monitor the monomer : exciplex emission ratio upon metal ion complexation, differ from those available in the literature.
