1. The foundation stone for the VCC was laid in 1956. From its inception the Cultural Centre included the National Museum and the National Achives.
2. Problems of alphabetising were initially considerable. However, the advent of computerisation has eliminated this problem and made it possible for updates of dictionary files to be produced and taken back to local communities by the fieldworkers every year.
