8. Klimontovich himself worked on generalizations of his method to quantum systems, e. g. [2, 3]. He was familiar with the method of second quantization and its formal analogy to his classical phase space densities which he, therefore, called "second quantization in phase space". However, no clear mathematical correspondence between the two methods or limiting procedure from the quantum to the classical case had been presented.
