    • We measure the diameter at the base of the dot and note that the measured shape is a convolution of the true island shape and the AFM tip geometry. For selected samples, dots were measured using two AFM tips with substantially different aspect ratios as well as scanning electron microscopy. All three measurements yield similar dot diameters.
