    • 2 at concentrations higher than 1 M, an absorption band around 415 nm increased faster than that of 520 nm. Therefore, the former band can be assigned to BQI. This is also supported by considering the longest π-π* wavelength of p-benzoquinone (425 nm). The shoulder around 430 nm in Figure 1A would be identical with the 415 nm band by considering the overlapping of the 520 nm band.
