    • R. F. Ismagilov, A. D. Stroock, P. J. A. Kenis, G. Whitesides, and H. Stone have shown that the parabolic velocity profile in the microchannel may induce 3D-structuration of the concentration fields (Ref. 10). With a 100× water-immersion objective (NA=1), for which 2r≈0.17 μm and 2a ≈ 7 μm, we have verified that the spectra were almost identical across the height of the channel, indicating that the concentrations are almost homogeneous. Such a result is consistent with numerical simulations of diffusion in a Poiseuille flow at the Péclet numbers investigated (Pe ≈ 10-100) and for d=40 μm.
