note
-
Body weight, feed conversion, carcass characteristic, flock uniformity, night feed consumption, and mortality data were analyzed by 3-way ANOVA using the MIXED procedure of SAS [11], with the main effects of gender, day length, and diet. Differences among least squares means were estimated using the PDIFF option of the least square means statement, which determines pairwise differences. The pen was the experimental unit for growth, uniformity, feed and mortality data, whereas the bird was the experimental unit for carcass characteristics. Differences are reported at the P ≤ 0.05 level unless otherwise specified.
