14. Statistical analysis. Data (pen means) for all response variables were subjected to ANOVA for a complete randomized design, using Statistix for Windows version 2.0 (1998). The main effect was treatment within each week or treatment during the 28-d experimental period. Error was estimated from variation among pens. Variables showing unequal variances according to Bartlett's test (P < 0.05) were analyzed using Kriskal-Wallis 1-way nonparametric ANOVA. Variable means from treatments showing significant differences in the ANOVA were compared using the least significance difference method. Statements of significance are based on P < 0.05 [17].
