    • A floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) system is an offshore facility, typically ship-shaped, that stores crude oil in tanks located within the vessel hull. The oil is periodically offloaded to shuttle tankers or ocean-going barges for transport to receiving and processing facilities. An FPSO can be used to develop and produce marginal reservoirs and fields in deep water or remote from existing pipelines.
