+ excitation, reflecting the incremental number of the LO phonons involved in spin relaxation. Unfortunately, this cannot be observed in our cw optical orientation experiments [see Fig. 1(b)]. A likely reason could be due to strong alloy and QW width fluctuations causing the broad QW PL linewidth (about 10 meV), such that the onset of each LO step is no longer well defined.
