8. Carbon nanotubes filled with iron were produced by pyrolysis of ferrocene powder. The nanotubes were made by H. Pettersson, M. Terrones, and N. Grobert at the Sussex Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Centre at the University of Sussex, England.

11. -7 Ω m for α-Fe), but the cross-sectional area of the core is also much smaller than that of the tube (more than 1 order of magnitude difference). Resistance measurements at various points along the tubes have not indicated any lower resistivity at iron filled sections of the tubes.
