    • The first study was conducted in 1999 and revised in 2002. The revised version found that most environmental impact categories would improve by at least 10% for PCs, televisions, lawnmowers, and vacuum cleaners, and many would improve by over 50%. However, recycling of washing machines and refrigerators were expected to increase hazardous waste and water toxicity.
