This was a prospective study in which MCA-PSV was used for timing an invasive procedure (amniocentesis/cordocentesis) in fetuses at risk for anemia because of maternal red cell alloimmunization. Invasive procedures were avoided in 70% of the patients.

MCA-PSV Doppler has a better predictive accuracy for moderate-to-severe fetal anemia than Delta OD 450.
