The 11 GPS positions were obtained from three different sources: two points of geodetic (cm) accuracy from a joint Tanzanian-German survey in September 1999 (37), seven points with accuracies of 2 to 5 m from surveys by D.R.H. and colleagues in February and June 2001, and two points of low accuracy (1S to 20 m) established by the Ohio State University (OSU) field party in February 2000, all weighted accordingly.
