25. On 28 April 2004, 106 died, many killed by army and police gunfire in the precincts of the historic Krue Se mosque near Pattani. On 25 October 2004 at Tak Bai, six demonstrators were shot and another 79 died, mostly from suffocation, while being moved in military trucks.
