    • This theorem, apparently based on work of de Gennes [17] was first stated by Egelstaff [18] and has been cited by many authors with slightly different numerical constants. The most complete proofs are given in [9] and [10]. The form we have used is appropriate for our two-dimensional problem. A more detailed discussion of this and a new derivation of the theorem are given in an extended version of the present work to be found at www.ArXiv.org (e-print nucl-ex/0407005).
