Occasionally the presence of a background ellipticity alters the intensity of the Cotton effects at short wavelengths. For this reason, the intensities of the second Cotton effects and the amplitudes (A values) of the CD spectra of our model compounds may not be precise; the intensities of the first Cotton effects are thus more accurate for comparative analysis.
