note
-
There is no direct measurement confirming this value. However, judging from energy spread measurements as a function of the stored time, the beam was found to be in equilibrium at least about 0.2 sec after the injection.

note
-
The background events stem both from scattering of the beam electrons by residual gas molecules and intrabeam scattering in a bunch. Stray electrons created by the processes in turn produce high energy photons whose spectrum extends up to a few tens of MeV.
