note
-
In the present experiments, P8OPIMB6* does not play an essential role as a chiral dopant but plays only a role to make chiral domains large. Actually, we confirmed that circular dichroism and optical rotation in two chiral domains give a difference in sign but not in magnitude. In this way, the present experiments are essentially those in spontaneously resolved chiral domains from achiral molecules. And also, recent EG experiments on achiral P8OPIMB without P8OPIMB6* clearly exhibit chiral NLO effect.
