A shorter, anonymous version was written by one of his sons, most probably Abdul-Rahmän al-Suwaïdi, and is also in manuscript. The section of the original manuscript in which Abdullah al-Suwaidi recounts his debates with the Persian and Afghan ulema in Najaf was edited and published separately in Egypt.
