    • The goal is to create a Constitution whereby the current presidency is made redundant and the duly elected prime minister operates as a chief executive capable of serving an unlimited number of terms. With Kumaratunga certain to be leader of the SLFP, it follows that she will also be the party's candidate for prime minister, thereby perpetuating her position at the helm of Sri Lankan politics.
