    • The EXAFS spectra were recorded at SSRL, Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, beamline 4-1. The spectra were recorded both in transmission and fluorescence modes. Data treatment and model fitting was carried out by use of the EXAFSPAK program [12], and pre-edge subtraction and spline removal [13] was performed by standard procedures. The EXAFS functions have been curve-fitted by calculated model functions using ab initio calculated EXAFS parameters from FEFF6 (version 6.01) [14].
