We make a distinction between quantum theory and quantum physics. We use the term quantum theory when we refer to the mathematical formalism, i.e., the postulates of quantum mechanics (with or without the wave function collapse postulate) [4] and the rules (algorithms) to compute the wave function. The term quantum physics is used for microscopic, experimentally observable phenomena that do not find an explanation within the mathematical framework of classical mechanics.
