    • An equally good fit could be obtained by postulating a two-site model, in which half of the vanadium sites have two short V-Cl distances and half have two long V-Cl distances. While mathematically indistinguishable from the model in which all sites have one short and one long V-Cl distance, we believe the two-site model is chemically unreasonable, considering that all sites appear to have the same V=O and V-OSi distances.
