    • For simplicity, the screening of the Coulomb interaction has been neglected in the solutions of Eq. (16). It has been confirmed by additional calculations (not shown) that the screening has only a small influence on the spectra of the considered structures, basically since its effects are rather small in one-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures.
